The Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association, in its meeting, held here today, decided to stop screening of films in all four shows for a day.

''The closure of theatres will result in a loss of about Rs 45 crore, but we have decided to express our solidarity with the government on the Mullaperiyar issue,''
The day-one closure was also to condemn the Kerala government's stand on the dam issue, support and strengthen Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's stand and reflect the sentiments of the people of Tamil Nadu on the issue, he said.
He appealed to all the theatre owners to extend their fullest cooperation and make the closure total
